Well I’ll admit this week has been a bit of a challenging one! Mother Nature sure has thrown it all at us, with 95% humidity and monsoon rains….it’s been very hard to find our feet here in Kuching. That mixed with the girls not enjoying the very sweet Malaysian food, and the small local supermarkets having very limited supplies of anything else, well it’s definitely been tricky! New Zealand it’s been great!
Well what a truly fabulous 4 weeks we’ve had here is New Zealand! Such a wonderfully and friendly country with such diverse and beautiful landscapes!
This evening as we enjoyed our last dinner here in Auckland, we chatted about our favourite places and activities….there were just so many! From glow worms to paradise beaches, from volcanos to bush baths, it really has been wonderful! Continue reading
A couple of days in Buenos Aires
Well what an alive and sexy city we find ourselves in! I’m not surprised it’s been nicknamed the small Paris of South America! It’s sort of a mixture of busy Parisian style avenues and streets combined with a passionate Latin American grit! Continue reading
Adeus Brazil!
Just sitting at the airport in Rio waiting for our next flight to Buenos Aires, so I thought i’d do a little post to round up our time in Brazil.
Monday we enjoyed our last day in Paraty, we decided to take a quick tour (although in Portuguese!)
We were picked up in a jeep and took a little trip to the native Indian reserve, to see Continue reading
Lazy days and boat trips!
After just 5 days in Paraty I think we have mastered the art of chilling, also know as the art of doing nothing without being bored! We have become so lazy, hanging out in our relaxing jungle home, even forgetting about lunch until 2-3pm! It really is very odd, but also very nice! A welcome break in this crazy 6 months. Continue reading
Swimming in the jungle waterfalls! Paraty
We have been in Paraty a few days now and life sure has slowed right down! Yesterday we didn’t even leave our gorgeous home! Very lazy indeed!!!
We’ve been very content relaxing in the hammock watching the beautiful array of birds coming to the birdfeeder, eating the bananas and other fruit we leave out. Continue reading
Paraty
Okay don’t hate me, but I’m writing this journal entry from the relaxing hammock hanging in the front porch of our new home!
So after a full week in Rio we packed up our bags, picked up our little hire car (bit of a squeeze fitting us all in, but we did it, we will not be beaten!!!👊) and drove our way down the warm and bumpy coastal road to Paraty. Continue reading
Lazy days in Rio
After seeing the major sights of Rio earlier this week, we were free to take the last few days a little slower and just enjoy living a lazy life here in the city.
We’ve caught up on some travel schooling, good old maths and English but have also been looking at some new topics, Brazil and the rainforest. Continue reading
Lima, Peru
So we have finally arrived in Lima, Peru! Yesterday was a long old day of travel, a 7 hour flight from Los Angeles to Bogota, then a little wait in the Colombian airport for our connecting 3 hour flight on to Lima. We finally made it to our new Airbnb in the Barranco area at 3am local time, so we pretty much crawled into our beds and dropped off to the land of nod! Continue reading
Joshua’s Tree National Park
Yesterday we took the 2 1/2 hour drive inland from Los Angeles to our new Airbnb in Desert Hot Springs. We were told to pick up the keys from the apartments partner hotel, the Aqua Soleil Hotel and mineral spa, which was a short 2 min drive from the apartment. We are allowed to use the hotel facilities so decided to quickly drop our bags at our new home and come back for the afternoon. Continue reading
